Bev Solazzo has been dancing for 35 years and has developed, designed and taught Dance Programs for Chicago’s Windy City Jitterbug Club, Lyons Township High School continuing education and local churches and organizations. She is a dance competitor both locally and on the Swing Dance Circuit, capturing the 1993 and 1995 title of Chicago Citywide Jitterbug Champion, as well as 1st Place Rising Star Masters Division at the 1997 Chicago Swing Dance Classic. Over the past several years, she has been placing and winning at the Rising Star/Intermediate level in Classic and Strictly Swing divisions w ith her partner Randy Slone. Together their titles include 2006 Wisconsin Dance Challenge Rising Star Classic Champion; 2 time Classic Champion at Swing N Country's Da Dance Camp; and 2005 Midwest Area Dance Challenge Strictly Swing Champion. In addition, she competes with her pro/mentor Carlos Garcia in various pro/am divisions, capturing 1st place with their routine at Michigan Classic and Nashville Classic in 2006. Bev has been teaching workshops and performing dance exhibitions at a national level for American Bop Association Clubs for the past 10 years, and enjoys teaching all dance styles – East Coast, West Coast, Hustle, Night Club 2, Carolina Shag.
